Our hair is like a canvas, and with the right treatment, you can transform them into a masterpiece of beauty with keratin treatment.

Keratin:

Do you ever just sit and wonder who might be responsible for those perfectly smooth, shiny hair you have always craved for? Your hair, skin, and nails are made up of a special protein called keratin which is responsible for maintaining their health and structure. Sometimes, however, the natural keratin in your hair gets worn out by some external or internal factors. The loss of keratin makes our hair strands porous. The more porous a hair, the frizzier and dull it gets. Then what is the role of a keratin treatment?

Here exactly comes the role of keratin treatment.

Keratin Treatment:

Keratin treatment is an artificial method to bless your hair with moisture and smoothness. This treatment carefully deposits the essential amount of protein in the cortex of the hair, where there is a loss of keratin. It fights frizz and chemical damage done to hair and leaves hair with a sleek and breath taking look.

Candidates of keratin treatment:

Ideal candidate for keratin treatment:

Do you find it hard, a big task to manage your hair? Does it give the impression of an exploded mini-bomb? Is your hair always dry, dull, and frizzy no matter what you do? Or your hair is a bit damaged after going through a chemical treatment? Glad you’re at the right place. Keratin treatment is surely and preferably for you.

Keratin treatment ideal candidate

Careful candidate for keratin treatment:

Let us spill a hundred-dollar secret. If you have colored your hair with a metallic hair dye, or henna, you need to undergo bleaching first to carry out the keratin method. Especially, if you have had extreme chemical treatments like rebounding, extenso, and smoothening done before. Don’t go directly for a keratin treatment. It just won’t work. Let your stylist know about your past experiments and let her do a small test to detect the amount of damage on your hair. To make keratin treatment work ideally, you must treat hair with plex treatment first. Plex treatment recovers all damage and harm done to hair and then prepares it to go well with the keratin process.

metallic hair color

Hair test: To detect if your hair can smoothly go for a keratin treatment or not, the stylist performs a short test. She’ll take a few hair, and stretch it with moderate force. If the hairs break easily, it means your hair is extremely damaged and you should immediately go for plex treatment.

Not so good candidate for keratin treatment:

If you’re going through extreme hormonal changes, like pregnancy, or breastfeeding, it’s better to avoid it. If you already have those dreamy, lustrous, smooth hair, then don’t mind the effort.

It is a three step treatment that only contains three products and that’s how you can take full advantage with minimal effort.

Steps in Eazistraight keratin treatment:

Keratin Treatment

Keratin treatment involves three main steps:

  1. Clarifying Shampoo
  2. Keratin Product
  3. Conditioner

Application:

Step 1

In the first step, the stylist washes your hair with Eazistraight Clarifying shampoo which is not an ordinary product. Eazicare clarifying shampoo contains stronger cleansing agents than regular shampoos. It removes the build-up of dirt, oil, and other impurities which deep cleanses the hair. It prepares your hair for a successful deposition of the keratin product.

Eazistraight Clarifying Shampoo

  • For Virgin or less damaged hair

If you have virgin hair or less chemically treated, the stylist will wash your hair twice with clarifying shampoo. Why? Because the cuticle of virgin hair is closed tightly and clarifying shampoo helps to soften the cuticle for better deposition.

  • For chemically treated and damaged hair

The hair cuticles of damaged hair are vulnerable so the stylist uses clarifying shampoo just once to cleanse the scalps.

Step 2

The second step includes application of the Keratin product.

Keratin Treatment

  • On Virgin or less damaged hair

90% of your hair should be dry before the application on virgin hair.

  • On chemically treated hair

50 to 60% of your hair should be dry before application on chemically treated and damaged hair. The other percentage of water is healthy on damaged hair as it will neutralize the chemical effects of the procedure.

Application process:

  • Starting from the nape area, the stylist takes very fine strands for the application of keratin product. As for the top area, the stylist starts to apply the keratin product two inches from root area to keep the roots safe.
  • The stylist applies a decent amount of keratin product on the hair in such a way that it leaves no strand uncovered behind. Neither more nor less, just the accurate amount.
  • First, the stylist emulsifies the product from top to bottom with the help of his fingertips.
  • Then he uses the smooth side of the comb to rub each strand of hair from root to tip. This method helps in the deposition of keratin in the cortex of the hair.

  • On virgin or less damaged hair

After the application of keratin on all the hair strands, we wait 30 to 40 minutes on less chemically treated hair. It requires more time to get deposition of keratin successful as the cuticles of virgin hair is not wide open.

  • On chemically treated hair

Chemically treated hair needs only 15-20 minutes to absorb the keratin in the cortex as the cuticle is already open.

  • The stylist then makes use of a blow dryer to dry the applied keratin on hair strands.
  • He puts a diffuser in front of the dryer, to help the air blow directly on the chosen strands. Right on target.

  • For Virgin or less damaged hair

The heat is kept between 280 °F to 300 °F for virgin hair. A round brush with harsh bristles is used while blow drying them as the harsh bristles will help deposit the product. For straightening keep the heat in between 290 °F to 300 °F

  • For chemically treated hair

The heat is kept between 190 °F to 200 °F for blow drying the chemically treated hair. A gentle paddled brush is used while blow-drying them. For straightening keep the heat between 150 to 190°F.

Sealing the protein using a flat iron

  • Now after 10 minutes of rest, the stylist starts the straightening procedure. The straightener has ceramic plates that create a smoothening effect. It helps to seal the keratin in your hair strands.
  • To protect the natural keratin of hair, the technician applies serum to the hair first, then carefully picks fine strands of hair at a 45-degree angle. The hair is kept stretched while straightening.
  • The hair is made to rest for about 24 to 48 hours after the straightening process. The hours of rest deposit the keratin perfectly into the cortex of the hair.
  • The next day, glossing is recommended if you had dyed your hair before undergoing the process. Why? Because during the process, your color skips to some extent which results in a brassy look. To neutralize this brassy look, stylist does glossing or toning.
  • After that the stylist will wash your hair with gentle strokes of fingers, to rinse off the keratin product completely.

Step 3

The last step in treating hair with keratin is applying a conditioner. The stylist leaves conditioner for about 20 minutes on your hair before rinsing it off. Then she blows dry your hair while keeping the direction of its diffuser downwards.

Keep in mind: Avoid washing your hair for at least three days after the treatment. This will give a flawless finish.

Conditions:

  1. Can I get a keratin treatment after dying my hair?

Yes, you can get a keratin treatment after dying your hair but know that Keratin treatment can only work on synthetic colors. If you dye your hair with henna or any other metallic hair color then this procedure is not recommended.

  1. How long should I wait before undergoing the keratin procedure after I dye my hair?

You can get your keratin treatment on the same day you dye your hair.

  1. How to cancel the effects of metallic hair color and prepare them for a keratin procedure?

Stylist prefers bleaching hair to cancel the effect of metallic dyes. Metallic hair color doesn’t allow any product to deposit in the hair cortex. That is why it is important to remove the layer of metallic color to make any other hair treatment work on them.

  1. What should I do if the keratin treatment goes wrong?

Keratin over keratin creates more disaster. We recommend having plex treatment if something goes wrong with your keratin treatment. Don’t panic, troubles happen but there are always smart ways to deal with them. Eaziplex treatment is a blessing for any kind of damage that happens to your hair. It has the power to repair any harm and strengthen the hair strands.

  1. Can I enjoy the effects of keratin treatment for a long period, maybe for a year?

Yes, you can surely prolong the effects of your keratin-treated hair for even a year but this is only possible with some self-care.
